What to know before you sign up

Calibrate is built for a reader whose insurance will pay for the drug. The membership is $199 a month with a three-month minimum, $597 in installments, then month to month; that buys a video visit with a clinician who reviews your labs, coaching by video, a curriculum and "full-service insurance navigation". The medication is not in that price. Calibrate's pitch is that with commercial coverage the GLP-1 copay "should be $25/month or less, after any deductible is met", and labs and the drug are billed to your plan, while the membership itself is not covered by insurance, only HSA/FSA eligible. If your plan excludes weight-loss drugs, the page says the medical team "can discuss cost-effective out-of-pocket options", and its medication page says only that "there are now more affordable self-pay options available. During your visit, we can review these options together", with the drug paid on top of the $199.

Two facts set it apart. Calibrate does not prescribe compounded GLP-1s and says so on its medication page, giving the FDA's non-approval as the reason, so the product will be Wegovy, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Foundayo or Ozempic. And it publishes a money-back guarantee tied to ten percent weight loss, with conditions in its terms that a reader should open before counting on it.

The FAQ states availability in all 50 states and D.C., and the first visit is 20 to 30 minutes by video depending on which page you read. Prescribing is done by independently owned practices the terms list, including Calibrate Health Medical P.C.; the terms say Calibrate itself "does not provide any clinical health care services".

Can I use Calibrate without insurance?
