Who Everlywell is for
Everlywell is for the reader who wants a specific number, wants it without booking a draw, and understands what a finger-prick screening test can and cannot do. It is a good way to establish a baseline A1C or lipid panel, or to check a value between clinic visits. It is not a substitute for a diagnosis: Everlywell's own terms describe the tests as provided for wellness and informational purposes.
What we checked
We read the HbA1c, cholesterol and lipids, heart health, testosterone, thyroid, metabolism, vitamin D and inflammation product pages, the terms of use (updated 2026-06-24) and the states-served support article on 2026-08-19. Vetting: no FDA warning letters (Everlywell, Everly Health, Everly Well; our positive control search for 'semaglutide' returned 141), no import alerts, no FTC or state AG actions. One private class action over website tracking pixels (Reedy v. Everlywell) settled for $5 million with final approval on 2025-04-30. The operating entity is Everly Health, Inc., Austin, Texas.

How the results are handled
Kits use a finger-prick dried-blood-spot or saliva sample, mailed to a CLIA-certified lab; Everlywell says every result is reviewed by an independent board-certified physician licensed in your state and posted in a few days. The thyroid page now advertises prescriptions available through a telehealth add-on.
How to read the numbers
Use our reference pages for what each value means and where the cutoffs come from: A1C, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, hs-CRP and total testosterone. Two cautions from those pages: testosterone must be a morning, fasting sample to be read against guideline ranges, and a diagnosis of diabetes needs a laboratory method certified to the DCCT standard plus confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
Is Everlywell available in my state?
Everlywell states that at-home lab tests are not available in New York and that availability elsewhere is shown at checkout. Older third-party listings excluded New Jersey and Rhode Island; we found no current first-party exclusion for either.
Can an Everlywell result diagnose diabetes or low testosterone?
No. The tests are informational; a clinician confirms a diagnosis, usually with a repeat or a venous test.
Does insurance cover it?
Everlywell is cash-pay. HSA and FSA funds are accepted, and itemized receipts are available for reimbursement claims.
When to talk with a clinician
Any out-of-range result, and any result you intend to act on. A finger-prick screening test is a starting point for a conversation, not the end of one.
