Editorial Policy

Sources: primary and top-tier only

Clinical claims are sourced to the primary authority that states them, not to a secondary summary of that authority. In practice that means the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), the CDC and its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the NIH and its institutes (including the NIA, NHLBI, and NIDDK), the FDA, Cochrane systematic reviews, or a major peer-reviewed trial itself. We do not cite a blog post, a press release, or another content site as the source for a clinical claim, even if that site itself cited a good source; we go to that source directly. Corrections are welcome and prioritized

If a claim does not match its cited source, a guideline has changed since our last check, or a link is broken, use the contact form. Corrections to a factual error are our top priority. Once a correction is confirmed against the primary source, the affected page is updated and its last-verified date is updated to reflect the correction.

AI-assisted drafting, disclosed

Some drafting and research on this site is AI-assisted. We disclose this plainly rather than let readers assume every sentence was typed by hand from scratch. What AI assistance does not change is the verification step: every clinical claim, however it was drafted, is checked by a human against its cited primary source before it publishes, and that source is linked on the page. AI assistance speeds up drafting; it does not replace source verification.

Ad independence

This site is advertising-supported, and ads never influence content. No advertiser can pay to have a screening recommended, a claim graded more favorably, or a page featured, edited, or omitted because of a business relationship. When ads run, they are clearly separated from editorial content and never styled to look like part of the article. This site does not currently carry any affiliate links, and no product, supplement, or service is recommended in exchange for a commission. If that ever changes, any affiliate relationship will be disclosed plainly next to the link, and it will never be a reason a claim is graded differently or a screening is recommended.
